When the jaw disharmony is significant and if clinical modification of jaw growth is not possible, then Dr. Arun Shailendran will discuss the option of combined orthodontics and orthognathic surgery, also known as jaw surgery.
He will work closely with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to establish a treatment plan. The surgeon will perform the jaw surgery, and Dr. Arun will supervise the orthodontic part. Significant facial and bite improvements are possible with this combined approach.
